Chapter 1.3

Before anyone knew it, the new baby arrived. Little Darwin was a welcome addition to the family (named of course after the famous Charles Darwin).

Gaia was glad to get back to work on her garden unfettered. Thankfully Darwin was proving to be an easy baby. Gaia was also quickly gaining gardening skill.

Caroline took to her big sister duties with gusto. She adored Darwin and spent as much time possible talking to him.

Caroline also spent lots of time sitting outside chatting with Gaia while she worked. (Yes, she and Elvis love to both sit on that bench and chat with Gaia, it’s adorable).

Elvis made sure to get out of the house ocasionally, his favorite hangout was one of the bars downtown. No drama here though folks, even though he fancies himself a flirt he is nothing but devoted to Gaia.

In fact, with two girls at home, Elvis mostly is happy chatting with other guys.

Darwin ages up into an adorable red (??) haired scamp. He gets the Rambunctious Scamp aspiration, and inherits Gaia’s Love of the Outdoors.

Darwin immediately starts exploring the area around the house, finding frogs and gems to help pay for his new bedroom.

Darwin: So, you mean you can meet new people at school?
Caroline: Of course! I’ll introduce you to all of my friends on your first day!

Caroline is the picture of a perfect big sister.

Darwin wants to be smart like his big sister, so he gets to work on the new chemistry set to build his mental skills.

It seems everything in the house is breaking all at once. Elvis swears that his next promotion is going to pay to upgrade some appliances.

Caroline: Mom said she needs to go gather some more plants, we should go to the park with her!
Darwin: Are there monkey bars?
Caroline: Oh you don’t even know, the parks here are AWESOME.

Gaia took the kids over to the park in Oasis Springs while she looked for plants they didn’t have yet. Darwin was over the moon on the monkey bars.

Caroline: Load those gravaton torpedoes faster Mr. Darwin, The Space Worm almost has us!
Gaia: RAAAAWRGLEBLARG
(Seriously this interaction cracks me up every time)

Back home, with new cuttings and some pooped out kids, Gaia went to work making her birthday cake. Yes, she was already becoming an adult!
Elvis: You sure you don’t want a party dear?
Gaia: Nah, besides, I haven’t worked off all this baby weight yet.

Indeed, Gaia wasn’t wanting for much for her birthday. Her garden was coming along swimmingly, she had two beautiful kids, and a wonderful husband. Her only wish really was to lose a pound or two from around the waist.

Gaia and Elvis are indeed the cutest couple ever.

Gaia: There’s breakfast in the kitchen dear.
Elvis: Just a sec, need to finish stress testing this mod…Why does he phase through that wall??
Elvis is doing great in his job as a tech guru by the way.

Have I mentioned I love that reading to kids is back?
